Scouts and parents registration for our first campout of the season is open.

Join the troop in a canoe adventure. We will depart Friday evening and camp at the outfitter campout by the river. Saturday morning we will be picked up and driven to the put out up the river. We will canoe back to camp and sleep a second night there. Sunday morning we will canoe a little further down the river and, driven back to the campsite so we can clean up camp and depart.

This is not a scouting activity but because it is local and hosted by Friends of Mount Vernon Trail (the group we served with last week), I am passing it along in case anyone is interested.

The fund raiser runs from 4-8PM. This is a great opportunity to spread word about the troop. Heather and I are looking forward to seeing everyone there.

The troop performed its service project on Thursday. In collaboration with Friends of Mount Vernon Trail, the scouts removed invasive vegetation including honeysuckle and English ivy along the trail.  

Dear Scouts and parents please remember that this weekend the troop has their Assateague beach campout. There will be no troop meeting so Scouts can use that time to prepare for the campout.  Izzy will be the grubmaster. Please email her and her parents if you are going and have dietary restrictions.

Dear Scouts and parents, a reminder that this Tuesday April 30 Troop 129 has invited our troop to take parting their swiming event. We will meet at 7.00 pm at Chinquapin pool and have a fun evening swiming. While at it, those scouts that desired will have a chance to prepare for their swiming test at summer camp and/or complete their swiming requirements for rank advancement.
